Joe (Ray) Delk died Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Heritage Manor in Newton. Due to his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Private family services will be at a later date.

Ray was born to Bill and Minnie Delk July 8, 1933, in Indiana. He served two years in the Army from 1951-1953. Ray married Bessie Gilbert in 1958. He worked at Midwest-Smith & Jones as the boiler attendant for several years in Kellogg, and retired from there in 1997.

Ray is survived by two daughters, Pat (Dean) Schutte and Jane (Dan) Shine; three grandchildren, Sherry (Marty) Griggs, Dan (Tonya) Schutte and Danielle Shine (Chad); 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Also, a special cousin Jr. Sharp of Malcom.

Ray was proceeded in death by his parents and grandson David Schutte. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa 17 Apr 2015.
