Walter D. Ryan, Former Colfax Resident, Dies
COLFAX – Walter D. Ryan, 91, of California, a former tailor in Colfax, died Thursday at Capistrano Beach, Calif.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic church in Colfax.
The Rev. Jerard Kulleck will conduct the services. Burial will be in Glendale Catholic Cemetery in Des Moines.
Friends may all at Walters Funeral Home in Colfax after 6 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors are a son, Anthony T. of Ruch, Ore.; a daughter, Mrs. Helen M. Grover of San Clemente, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June 8, 1955.
Mr. Ryan was a member of the Colfax Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
He was born Mar. 12, 1881 in Lithuania.
He was married to Ann Grablum Jan. 11, 1892 in Colfax.
A longtime resident of Colfax, Mr. Ryan moved to California in 1955.
