November 18, 1931 - April 1, 2015

Ray McNeece, 83, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on April 1st, 2015, at the Iowa River Hospice Home surrounded by his loving family.

A visitation will be held to honor his memory on Monday, April 6th, from 10 to 11 a.m., at First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown, with a Memorial service to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice and First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Raymon Lee McNeece was born in Nevada, Missouri on November 18th 1931, to Marion and Mary (Pike) Mc Neece. Ray was educated in the Albion Community School District graduating with the class of 1951. While attending school he was employed at the Marshalltown Water Works. After graduation, Ray served his County honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1952 until 1954. On April 10th, 1954, Ray married Margaret Collins at the Methodist Church in Albion Iowa, where they also made their home, later they moved to Marshalltown, Iowa where they raised their family and resided for the next 50 years. He was employed with various plumbing outfits for years, before eventually deciding to open his own Ray McNeece Plumbing and in 2010, after 50 years, Ray retired.

He was a family man who enjoyed trap shooting, hunting and enjoyed the outdoors. He was a member of the Marshall County Gun Club and the Newton Gun Club as well as the United Methodist Church in Marshalltown.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 61 years, Margaret of Marshalltown, Iowa, Children: Raena Carlisle of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, Marilee McNeece of West Des Moines, Iowa and Mark (Susan) of Albion, Iowa. Grandchildren: Matt (Megan), Blake, Brandy, Grant, Gavin and Derrick. Great-Grandchildren: Levi, Lyric and Logan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Marion and Mary (Pike) McNeece, his son John McNeece, his brother Murle, and his sister, Joan Youngblood. ~ The Des Moines Register Legacy, Des Moines, Iowa 6 Apr 2015.
