Arlene M. Taylor, age 85 of Colfax, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015 in Payson, Arizona. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Burial will be at Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Cancer Research and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The daughter of William S. and Jessie F. (Teed) Smith, Arlene was born on September 3, 1929, in Colfax, Iowa. On July 28, 1947, she was united in marriage to Russell A. Taylor in Newton. A lifelong Colfax, resident, Arlene worked at Perky Jerky in Mitchellville for 8 years and the State Liquor Store in Newton for 10 years. She loved wildlife, having as many as ten bird feeders at home. She also enjoyed playing cards and word games.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Karla (Robin) Alborn, of Young, Arizona; a sister, Doris McVay of Colfax; and two brothers, Peter A. (Jan) Smith of Colfax and Paul E. (Charlotte) Smith of Mingo.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, a grandson, Royce "Buddy" Fleming and two brothers, Harold "Babe" Smith and William A. Smith. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa 20 Mar 2015.
