Donald Van Der Kamp, 80

Donald Van Der Kamp of Pleasant Hill, formerly of Sully and Prairie City, died Thursday, April 22, 1999. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 24, at the First Reformed Church at Prairie City, Rev. Andy Kamphuis and Donald Plantinga officiated. Burial was held at the Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

Donald was born January 18, 1919 at Sully to Silas and Jenny (Brand) Van Der Kamp. He was united in marriage to Freda Van Zee on September 17, 1941 at Pella. To this union seven children were born: Alan Van Der Kamp, Prairie City; Jerry Van Der Kamp, Truro; Carl Van Der Kamp, Prairie City; Caryl Van Der Kamp, Monroe; Duane Van Der Kamp, Deer Field Beach, Fla.; Joyce Kain, Urbandale; Donna Zepeda, deceased.

Donald is survived by his wife Freda, their six children, 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and two brothers: Ralph Van Der Kamp, Sully and Melvin Van Der Kamp, Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Florence Evans, a daughter Donna Zepeda.

Donald was a member of the Trinity reformed Church in Pella. Memorials can be given to Trinity reformed Church in Pella and the First Reformed Church of Prairie City.

Donald's occupations were farming and driving truck. He lived 40 years in Sully, 30 years in Prairie City, 9 years in Pella, and one year in Pleasant Hill. ~ The Diamond Trail News, April 28 1999
