James Butler

James "Rabbit" Butler, 50, of Baxter died of a heart ailment Sunday, July 16, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ, with burial in Restland Cemetery.

Mr. Butler was born in Marshalltown and lived in Baxter most of his life. He was employed at the Newton Feed Center and was a member of the Navy Reserves.

Survivors include two daughters, Crystal Shanks of Baxter and Angel Shanks of Dundee, Illinois; his parents, Rex and Arlene Butler of Baxter, and two brothers, Richard and Mark, and a sister, Mrs. Darrell (Nancy) Foreman, all of Baxter. ~ The Jasper County Tribune, Colfax, IA., Thursday, July 20, 1995
