Del Ryan Dies, Former Resident of Prairie City

PRAIRIE CITY (Special) - Del Ryan, 80, resident of the Prairie City area for 75 years, died yesterday at his home in Portland, Ore. He was in ill health for several years.

Mr. Ryan was born two and one half miles south of Prairie City, and lived here until five years ago when he went to Portland. He is survived by his widow of Portland, a son Rex of Chicago, two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Ella Yowell of Prairie City.

The body will be returned to Prairie City for burial. Time for the funeral and burial are pending. ~ The Newton Daily News, August 1951
