A celebration of life service for Henry Glen Ver Woert of Knoxville will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery.
Henry was employed by VerMeer Manufacturing for 35 years prior to retirement. He is survived by his children, Bryan Glen Ver Woert of Knoxville, Roy Wayne Ver Woert (Sherry) of Pershing, Julia Ann Conn (David) of Newton and Jana Lynn Sigmund (David) of Des Moines; seven grandchildren, Chris and Cammie Ver Woert, Julia and David Sigmund, Jenna and Dustin Conn and Heather (Kurt) Dunkin; two great-grandchildren, Kade and Rylee Dunkin; and his sister, Martha Stewart of Newton.
Visitation will begin after 10 a.m. Thursday at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Knoxville Fire & Rescue Department. Online condolences may be left at bertrandfuneralhomes.com.

Henry Glen Ver Woert was born March 3, 1943 in Otley, Iowa the son of Henry and (Olive) Fern (Hevlin) Ver Woert.
He attended Summit Country School and later Pella High School. As a young man, Glen worked on the family farm and at Maytag in Newton. He briefly worked for Rolscreen, in Pella, before starting his career as a welder for Ver Meer Manufacturing. On March 3, 2008 Glen retired from Ver Meer after 35 years of service. He lived in Monroe for many years until moving to Knoxville 20 years ago. Glen was happiest when he was hunting, fishing, boating or camping. He was a true outdoorsman at heart.
Glen passed away on Monday, November 15, 2010 at his home at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 12 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Fern.
Casket Bearers: David Conn David Sigmund, Rod Slings Kurt Dunkin, Delbert Gilchrist Dave Gilchrist.
Honorary Casket Bearers: David Jacob Sigmund, Kade Dunkin, Dustin Conn, Chris Ver Woert.
