Fishel, Vesta Mae – 1918-1992

Vesta Mae Jensma Fishel, 73, of 603 S. Jackson St., Charles City, a former resident of Newton and Prairie City, died Sunday, February 9, 1992 at the mason City Hospital following a stroke.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, February 13 at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City.
Survivors are her husband, the Rev. Maynard Fishel; two daughters, Sandra (Mrs. James) Vellers of Fort Dodge and Yvonne (Mrs. James) Cradit of Minneapolis, Minnesota; three granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Marjorie Leriche of Seattle, Washington, and Bessie Jensma of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ida Sherard.
The daughter of John and Nelle Harrington Jensma, she was born August 2, 1918 in Prairie City and was a 1935 graduate of Newton Community High School.
She was married to Maynard Fishel December 25, 1935 in Newton.
Mrs. Fishel had resided in a number of Iowa and Missouri towns.
