Noon, Dale A., Sr. – 1913-1992

Dale Albert Noon Sr., a lifelong resident of the Prairie City-Monroe area, died Sunday, July 5, 1992 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9 at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. The Rev. David Hensley, pastor of the Otley Reformed Church, conducted the services. Burial was in Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.
Survivors are his wife, Helen; a son, Dale Albert Jr. of Des Moines; three daughters, Judy (Mrs. Don) Green of Altoona, Donna (Mrs. Hank) Rooda of Otley and Bessie (Mrs. Russ) Ferris of Conrad; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a sister, Katherine McDaniel of Hood River, Oregon, and a brother, Carl, of Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Glenn and Jesse, and two sisters, Lucille Jack and Mary Van Haalen.
Mr. Noon operated his own furnace repair business and later was employed by Green Colonial Furnace Co. in Des Moines, Roberts Brothers in Prairie City, and the Monroe Company in Colfax, from which he retired.
He was a member of the Prairie City Independent Order of Odd Fellows and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps as a youth.
The son of Albert Dale and Katherine Rexroat Noon, he was born May 21, 1913 in Monroe.
He was married to Helen Jarnagin October 30, 1938 in Monroe.
