Beverly A. Quick, 63, of Prairie City died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Prairie City First Reformed Church with burial following at Waveland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today with family present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Prairie City First Reformed Church. The daughter of Dick and Anna (DeGroot) DeWeerd, Beverly was born on March 1, 1947 in Middleburg, Iowa. She graduated from Sioux Center High School. On May 30, 1970 Bev was united in marriage with William Quick in Pella, Iowa. Bev was a devoted Homemaker for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, reading, and watching football, especially the Denver Broncos. Bev was a member of the Prairie City First Reformed Church.
Those left to honor her memory are her husband, William Quick of Prairie City; two daughters, Brenda Johnston and her husband Gary of Prairie City and Elizabeth Quick of Des Moines; two grandchildren, Hayden and Justin Johnston; and her mother, Anna DeWeerd of Pella. Beverly was preceded in death by her father, Dick, brother, David, sister, Judith, and her beloved dog, Abbie.
Memorials may be given to the Diabetic Research Foundation.
