Ruth Maxine Spain-Partelow, 83, of Newton, Iowa, died Oct. 15, 2010, in the Monarch Wing at Skiff Medical Center.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. and funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Grandview Park Funeral Home, with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Ruth was born in Newton (on Nov. 9, 1926). and lived in Reasnor before moving to Des Moines with her late husband, Joe E. Partelow. She worked for the state of Iowa for over 25 years. Ruth enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her children, Ed Anderson (Doris), Ronald Partelow (Dottie), Judie Partelow-Foster (David), David Partelow (Lisa), Patsy Ann Partelow and Leslie Anderson; her 17 grandchildren; and her 33 great-grandchildren (and one great-great grandchild due in March).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Vera Spain; sons, Jerold Partelow and Tom Anderson; grandchildren, Kathy and Kenny Anderson; brother, Robert Spain; and sister Leona Spain-Neil.
