Mrs. Charles Kautz, whose death occurred at her home ten miles north of the city, Sunday evening at nine-thirty was born in Hessen, Darmstadt, Germany, October 19, 1859. Her maiden name was Mary Bangert. She came to this country in 1881 and settled in Scott county, this state. On March 4, 1886, she was united in marriage to Charles Kautz and a little later they removed to this county, where she has since resided. Four children were born to them, of whom three, Augusta, Adolph and Ella are all living at home. Henry died in infancy. Deceased also has a sister living – Mrs. Anna Tenney in Germany.
Funeral services will be held from the home tomorrow morning at ten 0’clock, conducted by Rev. Dieffenbach of this city. Burial will be made in the Newton cemetery.
