Our Heavenly Father called our loved one, Linn McClary Johnson, home in July 2010. He was 81 years old.
Linn was born March 14, 1929, in Newton, Iowa. He was educated in Newton before he graduated from high school. At a young age, he became a gifted organist.
Linn enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged at the war’s end.
Linn settled in Chicago, Ill., working for Laurey Organs as an inspector. When Linn retired from Laureys in his 60s, he kept his residence in Chicago, where he was a long-time member of the United Christian Church of Country Club Hills, Ill., being the organist for more than 40 years, never missing a Sunday and enjoying his work and his fellowship with the congregation.
Linn was preceded in death by his parents, Mac M. and Lillian M. Johnson. He is survived by his cousins and numerous friends. He had no siblings and never married.
Funeral services are pending.
