Mrs. Ned Dullard whose funeral was held last Saturday morning from the Catholic church was born in Ireland May 24th, 1839 therefore she would have been seventy seven years of age on her next birthday.
Her maiden name was Anna Holland. When she was a girl she went to Australia. On February 7th, 1866 she was married to Edward Dullard, and in 1871 the family came to America. That was before Steam boats were in common use and they came in a sailing vessel and were seventy five days on the water.
Five children were born to them of whom but one survives Edward who lives near Colfax, Katie died in 1893, Thomas in 1910, James in 1914 and Johnnie in 1880.
Edward and some of the other children were born in Australia and the rest here in Newton.
Mrs. Dullard was a good wife, a fond mother and a very desirable neighbor. She was kind, thoughtful and very unselfish and seemed to be looking for opportunities to do an act of kindness for some one. It was characteristic of her life and she was therefore loved by all who knew her.
