Services held for Maytag Retiree James Butcher
James H. Butcher of Newton, a Maytag retiree, died May 29 in Skiff hospital. He was 70. services were held Saturday and burial was in the Union cemetery. Mr. Butcher had been ill for some time.
Butcher's continuous service began in June 1933 in machining. He transferred to tool and die service in 1948 as a tool grinder and remained there until retiring in May 1972. While with the company, Butcher had served as a solicitor for the United Way Drive for many years.
Survivors include his son, Charles, Barnum, Minn. ~ The Maytag Bulletin, May 29, 1980
