DEAN L. KOGER DIES THURSDAY; SERVICE MONDAY

Dean L. Koger, 67, of 910 E. 7th St. S., a resident of Newton for 22 years, died Thursday evening at Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.

The Rev. Arthur Campney, pastor of St. Luke United Methodist Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Saturday.

Survivors are his wife, Mary; four sons, Dale of Washington, D.C., Edwin of Anchorage, Alaska, William of Littlefield, Tex., and John of Council Bluffs; three daughters, Mrs. David (Janet) Bryan of Pampa, Tex., Mrs. James (Kathy) Plumb of Newton and Susan Koger of Newton; and 14 grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Opal) Paul of Leroy, Ill., and Mrs. David (Eva) Gobat of Oak Park, Ill.; three brothers, Roy of Gilman, Russell of Grinnell and Donald of San Pedro, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two grandchildren.

Mr. Koger, a Maytag retiree, was a member of the UAW Local 997, retirees.

The son of John and Bessie Lewis Koger, he was born May 22, 1905 in Calwell County, Mo.

He was married to Mary Rayl, May 8, 1945 in Princeton, Mo.

Mr. Koger also had resided in Grinnell.
