Death of Former Resident

Mrs. Kenneth (Dorothy A.) Wallin, 48, of Newton, a former resident of Baxter, died early Tuesday, April 18, at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services tentatively are set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 20 (today), at the First Christian Church.

The Rev. Raymond Barnett, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Restland Cemetery in Baxter.

Memorial contributions to a fund in Mrs. Wallin's name will be accepted. They may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are her husband; two sons, Robert Ayers of Owatonna, Minnesota, and Joseph Ayers of Newton; two daughters, Mrs. Craig (Diana) Warner of Newton and Janita Ayers at home; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gale Butler of Owatonna, Minnesota, and Mrs. Larry Longren of Newton; and her mother, Mrs. Amber Averhoff of Baxter.

She was preceded in death by her father, step-father, husband, Robert Ayers in 1963, and a brother.

Mrs. Wallin was a member of the First Christian Church and the ABWA.

She had been secretary in the Maytag Co., labor relations department for 25 years.

The daughter of Simon and Amber Patterson Meier, she was born March 2, 1930, at Baxter and attended Baxter schools.

She was married to Robert Ayers in June 1954 at Nashua and to Kenneth Wallin June 24, 1966, at Omaha, Nebraska.

Mrs. Wallin also had resided for a few years in Texas. ~ The Jasper County Tribune, Colfax, Iowa, Thursday, April 20, 1978
