Mrs. Eliza Kinney-
Last Sunday afternoon occurred the death of one of Jackson County's oldest settlers, in the person of Mrs. Eliza Kinney, relict of the late Michael Kinney, of congestive chill. Mrs. Kinney had but just retired from farm life and taken up her residence in Bellevue last spring.

Mrs. Kinney, whose maiden name was Eliza Maloney, was born in Kings County, Ireland, July 22, 1824, and came to America in 1838, locating with her parents in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she was married to Michael Kinney. In 1849 they came to Jackson County, Iowa, and located just west of Bellevue on a farm, upon which Mrs. Kinney resided until last spring. Her husband Michael precede her to the grave ten years ago. She leaves four children to mourn her, all of whom have reached maturity: Mrs. J. W. Fratus of this county, Mrs. J. J. Campbell of Kansas, Ed Kinney of Wellington, Kansas and Charles, who had made his home with his mother. The funeral will be this Tuesday morning at 7 o'clock from St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment in the Catholic cemetery.
