OBITUARY

FARNSWORTH

Willis Clinton Farnsworth was born July 26, 1883, near Cresco, Iowa. He was the only child of Clinton Willis and Fannie C. Farnsworth. He was united in marriage to Etta B. Davis Nov. 29, 1905, at Cresco, Iowa. To this union two children were born. Raymond R. seven eyars old, and Leota, three weeks old. In December, 1914, Mr. Farnsworth, with his wife and son, joined the Congregational church of Cresco and was a devoted and faithful attendant until failing health made it impracticable to do so since last spring.

Last fall it became evident that he must made different arrangements. He left the farm and came to town to live with his parents during the winter, hoping the spring would restore him to health and normal vigor. He made a brave fight against great odds, availing himself of the best medical aid but succumbed on the morning of Dec. 31, 1916.

Funeral services were held in the Congregational church on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 3, 1917. The service was conducted by Dr. D. T. Robertson of Faribault, Minn., who was pastor to to{sic} the deceased when he joined the church, assisted by Rev. W. A. Bockoven, the present pastor. Burial was in Oak Lawn cemetery.

The relatives from out of town and present at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Dan Alleman and daughter Kathryn of St. Paul, Minn., cousins of the deceased; also a brother of Mrs. Farnsworth, W. W. Enyart, with his wife from Postville, Iowa; two aunts of Mrs. Farnsworth, Mrs. A. J. Davis and Mrs. W. W. Fenske, each of Princeton, Minn.
