OBITUARY
LAVALLEY.
Sophia Hubert was born October 19, 1844, at Champlain, New York, and departed this life December 27th, 1916, at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 8 days. On May 15, 1856, she was united in marriage to J. P. LaValley. To this union were born nine children, six of whom are living. Mrs. Sharp of Cresco, Mrs. Benedict of {illegible} and Mrs. Edmonds of Bonair, John of Cresco, Henry of St. Louis, Mo., and Kelsey of Minneapolis. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. LaValley settled in Winneshiek County, near Burr Oak in 1865, where they made their home for 21 years. They then move to Bluffton, Winneshiek County, where they lived until 1894 moving thence to Cresco. After making Cresco their home for 19 years, they moved to their present location west of Bonair, where Mrs. LaValley has lived until the time of her death. She leaves to mourn her loss, a husband, six children, 17 grandchildren and 12 great grand children. Interment was made at Burr Oak.
