HUBBARD-June Madeleine Chamberlain, 77, of Hubbard, died of cardiac arrest Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls. Services will be held Saturday, July 13 at 2 p.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in Hubbard with burial in the Hubbard Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Hubbard Main Street Initiative.
June was born Sept. 20, 1924, in Hubbard to Millard and Berdine Flowers Andrews. At the age of 12, her family moved to Seligman, Mo., where she graduated from high school and attended Drones Business College. On Dec. 24, 1946, she married George Chamberlain and they later moved to Iowa where George was engaged in farming. They retired into Hubbard in 1997. She enjoyed gardening, canning and crossword puzzles. She and her husband enjoyed a trip to Hawaii for their 50th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her husband, George; four children, George Jr. and wife Carolyn of Wilson, Okla., Collette Lindeman and husband Anthony of Keokuk, James and wife Christine of Durham, N.C., and Kimberly McDowall and husband Garry of Oxford, Miss.; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, David Andrews of Eldora. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dean; and a sister, Hildred Andrews.
Boeke Funeral Home of Hubbard is in charge of arrangements.
