ELDORA-Lloyd P. Eekhoff, 51, of Eldora, died Thursday, June 20, 2002, at his home. Funeral services were held Monday, June 24 at the First Methodist Church in Eldora with Tim Boettger from Orchard Hill Reformed Church officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral service.
Lloyd was born Dec. 24, 1950, in Eldora to Edward and Martha Uken Eekhoff. He graduated from Steamboat Rock School in 1969 and attended the University of Northern Iowa where he received his B.A. degree. On Sept. 1, 1971, he married Jane Stonebraker at Pine Lake State Park in Eldora. He taught industrial arts for a short time at Wellsburg, then worked at the Austinville Elevator until he began farming in 1976. He was a member of the Hardin County Farm Bureau; a member of NRA; and was affiliated with Orchard Hill Church in Cedar Falls. His hobbies were fishing, hunting and motorcycle riding with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Jane; a son, Lincoln and wife Lindsay of Waterloo; a daughter, Kay Eekhoff, at home; his mother, Martha Eekhoff, of Wellsburg; a brother, Dale Eekhoff and wife Paulette of Cedar Falls; a sister, Margret Jager, and husband Tom of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two brothers-in-law, Bill Stonebraker and wife, Mary, and Jody Stonebraker and wife, Jacque, all of Eldora. He was preceded in death by his father.
