ACKLEY-Mary Lou Stubbe, 48, of Ackley, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley. Services were held Friday, May 31, at the United Methodist Church in Ackley with burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Ackley. The Rev. Jerry Hoff officiated.

Mary Lou was born June 6, 1953, at Eldora to Lowell and Luella Hunt Maine. She graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1971 and Ellsworth Community College in 1972. On July 1, 1972, she married Robert Stubbe in Iowa Falls. She was employed as office manager at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls until retiring in December 2000. Mary Lou was a member of the Ackley United Methodist Church, UMC Women, Priscilla Circle, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; a daughter, Christine Hoffman and her husband, Andy, of Des Moines; a son, Jeff, and his wife, Stacy, of Ackley; two grandsons, Cade Hoffman and Liam Stubbe; her mother, Luella Maine, of Mason City; a brother, Lloyd Maine; and a sister, Marcia Smith, both of Mason City. She was preceded in death by her father, Lowell, in 1975.

Sietsema Funeral Home of Ackley was in charge of arrangements.
