ALLISON-J. Jerald Brinkman, 82, of Allison, died Friday, May 17, 2002, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Services were held Tuesday, May 21, at St. James Lutheran Church in Allison, with burial in the Allison Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Laehn officiated.
Jerald was born March 14, 1920, at Kesley, to Jerry and Hermina Kappel Brinkman. He was raised at Kesley and Allison. On Dec. 30, 1946, he married Katie Seehusen and after her death in 1970, he married Neva Wiegmann on Jan. 15, 1972. He was a farmer and engaged in carpentry and painting work. Jerald was a member of St. James Lutheran Church at Allison. He enjoyed reading and outside activities.
He is survived by his wife, Neva; a son, Randy and wife, Sydney, of Allison; three daughters, Janis Lacquement and husband, Mitch, of Des Moines, Sandra Rinderknecht and husband, Gene, of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Joyce Schnormeier and husband, Bill, of New Providence; a sister, Mina Toebe of Allison; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; three brothers, Chris, Donald and Ernest Brinkman.
Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton, was in charge of arrangements.
