ROCKLIN, Calif.-Thelma Olson-McFadden, 89, a former Radcliffe resident, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at her daughter's home in Rocklin, Calif. Her body was cremated and returned to Iowa. Memorial services will be held May 16, at 1:30 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Radcliffe, with interment at the Radcliffe Cemetery.Thelma was born April 8, 1912, in Jewell, to Henry and Julia Mickelson Teig. She worked at the drug store in Radcliffe and became a licensed practical nurse and worked in Iowa City for one year. On July 4, 1932, she married Burton Olson and he died in 1955. She moved to California in 1963 and was a licensed practical nurse for 14 years. On May 4, 1994, she married Grayson McFadden and he died Dec. 14, 2001. Her interests were sewing, gardening and singing. She enjoyed writing letters, her diary and taking pictures.
She is survived by three sons, William Olson and wife, Zola, of Radcliffe, Irving Olson and wife, Phyllis, of Blue Grass, and Bruce Olson of Eldora; two daughters, Jeraldine Keyes and husband, Thomas, of Rocklin, Calif., and Joyce Kooker and husband, James, of Ellsworth; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Adeline Hudspith of Alden, and Mary Ann Beck of Sheffield. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; three sisters; and two brothers.
Boeke Funeral Home of Radcliffe, was in charge of arrangements.
