ACKLEY-Margaret Ellen Drew, 75, of Ackley, died Friday, April 26, 2002, at her home. Funeral service was Monday, April 29, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Ackley, with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery in Ackley. Rev. Michael Dack officiated.

Margaret was born June 23, 1926, in Gary, S.D., to Otis O. and Elsie Shield Rule. She graduated from Ackley High School in 1945. On Oct. 9, 1946, she married William Francis Drew in Ackley. Margaret was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Past Matron, a member and past officer of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and a member and officer of the WA-Tan-Ye Club. She was a member of St. John's UCC choir, a youth leader, a Girl Scout leader and a member of the "A" bridge club.

Survivors include her husband, Francis; two daughters, Kathy Short and her husband, David, of Hubert, N.C., and Joan Abbas and her husband, David, of Iowa Falls; a granddaughter, Margaret Wesinmann; two grandsons, Drew Short and Ross Abbas; a mother-in-law, Bessie Drew of Ackley; three brothers-in law, Lawrence Kramer of Yucaipa, Calif., Paul Drew of Murray, Ky., and Lyle Drew and his wife, Gladys, of Ackley; and two sisters-in-law, Joan Santee of Iowa Falls, and Helen Drew of Ackley. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Dorothy Kramer.

Sietsema Funeral Home of Ackley was in charge of arrangements.
