Death of Mrs. E. E. Claflin

Mrs. E. E. Claflin, who lived a few miles south of town, passed away last Thursday at 3 o'clock a. m. from ulcers of the stomach. She had been ill for just one week and her death came as a large blow to the family and a large circle of friends. Charlotte May Claflin had resided near this city all her life. She was born March 18, 1873, and was therefore forty years of age. The deceased leaves a husband and two children to mourn her passing, besides four sisters and three brothers. The children are: A. A. Claflin and a ten years old daughter, Edith Claflin. One sister, Mrs. Lydia Myers, resides near Woolstock, and three sisters live in the west; Mrs. S. H. Bryan, Lind, Washington; Mrs. Viola Renton, Snoqualmie, Washington; Mrs. Edith Fisher, Wilbur, Washington. The brothers are H. E. Gleason, Alden, Oklahoma; and A. P. and J. M. Gleason who live near Stratford.

A short funeral service was conducted from the home on Saturday morning at eleven o'clock and another service was held in the Christian church in Webster city at 12:30, conducted by Rev. Knoer of Stanhope, and Rev. L. H. Sours of Webster City.
