Saturday, August 25, 1962Asher Grover, 74, longtime resident of Webster City, died at 3:45 this morning at the Hamilton County hospital. He had been in ill health the past five years.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. Howard C. Perrine officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.
Asher Grover, son of Charles and Edith Grover, was born July 27, 1888, on a farm west of Webster City. He was reared and educated in the Webster City schools.
He was united in marriage June 26, 1907 to Jemima Lacy, and Mr. and Mrs. Grover farmed north of Webster City for several years. They then moved to Carleton, Minn., where they farmed for 12 years before returning to Webster City where Mr. Grover engaged in tiling work.
He is survived by his wife; one son and four daughters, William Grover of Myrtle Creek, Ore., Mrs. Verl (Edith) Smith of Lehigh, Mrs. Ben (Alice) Deitz of The Dells, Ore., Mrs. Clifford (Clara) Short of East Moline, Ill., and Mrs. LuVerne (Mary) Craig of Hastings, Neb.; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Hugh Grover of Sweet Home, Ore., Hubert Grover, Wrenshall, Minn., and Mrs. George Miller of Waubun, Minn.
Mr. Grover was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth, who died at the age of 13 months; by his parents and three brothers.
