Thursday, August 31, 2000Yvonne Prehm, 77, Webster City, died Monday, August 28, 2000 at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge. Mrs. Prehm was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Webster City with Rev. Bill Kem officiating. Burial of the ashes will be at a later date. There will be no visitation. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral home.
Yvonne Brooks, daughter of Charles and Frances Clabaugh Brooks, was born Feb. 2, 1923 at Stratford. She attended Webster City schools, graduating from Lincoln High School. She taught rural schools in the Webster City area. On Nov. 14, 1941 she married Thomas Jerald Prehm at Princeton, Mo. The couple resided at Eagle Grove. In 1950, they moved to Webster City. She had been employed at the Hamilton Hospital and Ione's Beauty Salon. Mr. Prehm died Feb. 24, 1976. She resided at Southfield Care Center since April 21, 1995.
Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Alison and Dennis Gaskill of Plover, Wis., grandchildren, Autumn Prescott and Courtney Wood, great grandchildren, Cody and Dylan Prescott, Joshua and Nicholas Belt; brothers, Melvin Brooks, Fort Dodge, Stewart Brooks, Jackson, Mo., sisters Dorothy Hanson, Augusta, Ga., Retta Raines, Deland, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers Randall and Riley Brooks.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, was a former Sunday school teacher and was an elementary school reading volunteer.
