Thursday, August 17, 2000Shirley E. Sniffin, 78, Wadena, died Wednesday, August 16, 2000 at the Maple Crest Manor at Fayette after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Arlington with Rev. Lexie Kirkpatrick officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will be in the Harlan Cemetery at Dumont at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
Shirley E. Sniffin was born April 14, 1922 at Aredale, Iowa, the daughter of Bert and Ida Hall Sniffin. She graduated from Kamrar High School in Kamrar in 1940. She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy Waves. She was an office worker in Chicago, Ill., for many years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a sister, Mabel Cavaiani of Wadena. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law.
