Phebe Jane Bukhardt daughter of James and Rebecca Blake was born in Audubon County October 13,1883 and departed from this life at the New Homestead on Sept 16,1973 at the age of 89 years, 11 months, and 3 days.
She lived most of her younger years in Audubon County and on March 8,1906 was married to Phillip Burkhardt.They injoyed [sic enjoyed] 52 years of married life together. They moved to Guthrie County in 1911 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church.
To this union was born 3 daughters and two sons Lois ( Mrs. Harry Eastman ) of Panora; Olivene ( Mrs. Wayne Messinger ) of Menlo, Anna Burkhardt, Clarence Burkhardt, Phillip H. Burkhardt all of Guthrie Center.
She was preded [sic preceeded] in death by her husband in 1958 and one grand daughter, Dorthy Joyce Burkhardt in 1936.
Sruvivors include on brother James Blake of Audubon; a sister - in - law Kathryn Burkhardt of Audubon, the 5 children; 2 sons - in - law; 9 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends
