Services Held For Aura Bine

Mrs. W. H. Bine, 89, of Beaman, passed away Tuesday, December 12, at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center, where she had been a patient for the last few days.

Following private family committal services at Oakland Cemetery, Beaman, services for family and friends were held Saturday, December 16, at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Harold Schirm officiating.

The organist was Leonard Klinefelter and the soloist was Malcolm Miller.

Aura I. Bine, the daughter of Walter and Florence Porter Bute, was born January 3, 1900, in Leon. She moved with her family to a farm near Centralia, MO. She graduated from Centralia High School, and attended State University of Missouri, Columbia, MO, and Kirksville State Teachers College. She taught school for six years, two of which were in Beaman prior to her marriage.

On June 9, 1926, Aura was married to Wesley H. Bine at Centralia. They lived on the family farm in rural Beaman.

She was a member of the Beaman United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women for over 50 years. She served for 14 years as Treasurer of Oakland Cemetery Society, she was a charter member of the Beaman Woman's Club, the Grundy County Farm Bureau, and the Homemakers.

She assisted several children in numerous countries since 1961, through the Christian Children's Fund and the foster parent plan.

Aura was preceded in death by her husband in 1956; a son Paul; a daughter Mary Lunn; three sisters; one brother; and one grandson.

She is survived by two sons, Arthur Bine, Beaman, and Laurence Bine, Belle Plaine; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The Johnston Funeral Home in Conrad was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
