The board of supervisors met last Monday and elected a steward of the county farm. There were ten candidates in the field and the contest was a very quiet affair. The gentlemen who aspired to the place were: D. E. Walker, L. E. Tracy, D. J. Gronewold, A. B. Stuck, J. T. Heskett, Chas. Schrage, H. W. Engelkes, A. L. Brockway, Thos. Brown and William Murray. On the informal ballot D. E. Walker had two votes; Thos. Brown one, and the remaining four votes were given to other candidates. The formal ballot gave four votes and the election to Mr. Walker. The successful candidate is a resident of Washington township and was highly recommended by the citizens of Morrison and vicinity for the place. His family consists of a wife and four children. We hope he will fill the place in every particular. His bid was $550. He will take charge of the farm February 16.
