In response to Roz Boyer re Hilma Swanson.

Ben and Hilma Swanson were my great grandparents. I have a copy of their marriage license and a copy of Ben's (he was born Bengt) naturalization paper. She was born in Horn, Sweden Nov. 24, 1869. Ben was born in Mjallby, Sweden Jan. 23, 1873. Their immegration was to Illinoise and they married in Altona, IL Dec, 7, 1896. Their 3 children were: Nell born in Oct of 1897, Frank born in Jan. of 1899 and Edwin born in Aut. of 1901. I believe all the children were born in IL. The move to IA was probably most certainly for the farm they came to own in Chapin, IA.

Being the oldest grandchild of Frank Swanson I was blessed with being able to know and visit my great Grandparents Hilma and Ben Swanson.

Roz, I hope you find this post as I have a few pictures I could copy and some stories you might enjoy. Jorganne, your cousin.
