In Response To: George and Fanny Davidson (Shana Wilson)

George Davidson appears on the 1860 Census Mortality Index as dying in Rockford Township in September of 1859. No death certificates were required in Iowa at the time. Most newspapers were not publishing obituaries at that time. His probate is unlikely as he may not have owned property. His widow had $50 in real estate in 1860. His family seems to have widely scattered and except for Hiram it was difficult to find family members after 1860. Burials in the early years were often on the farmstead and many were plowed under if markers fell over or decayed. If you have information about the faste of children or Fanny, the mother we could pursue a chance that someone wrote a letter or created a record about George. You are correct that there is mor ethan one george Davidson but we have a suggestion that w edo not know for certain his birth year.
