Since I initially posted this query, I have also received information concerning Sister Mary Seraphine.
Her birth name is Catherine Reuter, born 1875 in Luxemburg, IA and died 1979 in a convent located in Dubuque, IA at age 103. Her parents are Peter Reuter and Cahterine Anna Ungs. If this information is correct, then Sister Mary Seraphine would be a 1st cousin of Pierre John Ungs, Jr., the persoon who wrote the letter to her.
