Are you essentially looking to construct a Pre 1850 genealogy of the family? It ought to be possible but Iowa records and helpers will not be enough unless you are fotunate to find a detailed biography in one of the Floyd histories. Ancestral file at familysearch.org has some of your people as does AFt on rootsweb.

You may need a professional genealogist unless you can travel and learn the skills to do it yourself. Best wishes.
