There is a short biography about W.B. Carter on the Biographies page, Riverton Twp. http://www.rootsweb.com/~iafloyd/biocontent.htm He and Phoebe Ripley Carter, had a son, Marion.

Do you know the middle initial of the Marion you are looking for? In the 1870 census of Floyd Co., Pleasant Grove Twp., there is a Marion F. Carter, born Ohio, age 23, wife Louisa, age 23, and Henry L. age 2.
