From census records, John E. Potter was living in Westfield township (Fayette), Fayette County, Iowa in 1880 with first wife Elizabeth ? (1851-25 May 1890) and children Hiram, Henry, Emma and Moulton. Also in household, his parents Chauncy and Margaret Potter. Elizabeth and the elder Potters are buried in Grandview Cemetery, Fayette, Iowa. Found no burial record for John E. Potter. In 1900, John E.
