Dorothy R. Bradley, 87, of 8565 Military Road, died at 2:32 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, with Linda Von Fumetti officiating. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, south of Dubuque. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at the funeral home.

Dorothy was born on June 13, 1924, in Centralia, Iowa, daughter of Richard and Rose (Galliart) Lindenberg. She married Merlin H. Bradley on Jan. 5, 1947; he preceded her in death on March 27, 2008. Together they farmed for many years. After retirement, she worked at Table Mound School in the cafeteria. Dorothy and Merlin served with their family as hosts for foreign visitors and delegates from Dubuque's sister city in Russia. She was a member of Rockdale United Methodist Church and Rockdale Ladies Aid Society. Dorothy and Merlin were known for their high bids on pecan pies at the church auctions. She was a great homemaker, cook, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her children, David (Darla) Bradley, of Mineral Point, Wis., Ronald Bradley, of Dubuque, and Jane (Paul) Galle, of Buffalo, Minn.; four grandchildren, Brian (Kim), Mark (Kerry), Jeff (Rachel) and Terry (Rachel); seven great-grandchildren, Austin, Kyle, Jordan, Ava, A.J., April and Abbi; three sisters-in-law, JoAnne Lindenberg, Jean Lindenberg and Audrey Lindenberg; a brother-in-law, Richard (Mary Lou) Bradley, and family, of Dubuque; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ada Jane and Alice; four brothers, Allen, Andy, Melvin and Willard; and a nephew, Steven Bradley.

In lieu of flowers, a Dorothy Bradley Memorial Fund has been established. The family would like to thank the Key West Fire and EMS and the Mercy ER nurses and staff for all their care and kindness they gave to Dorothy and her family.
