EPWORTH, Iowa - Mrs. Francis (Anastasia V.) Kennedy, 76, 113 Fifth Ave. S.W., Epworth, formerly of Placid, died at 4 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 1998, at home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church, Placid, rural Epworth, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Epworth, where there will be a Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary at 4 p.m., a St. John's Parish rosary at 5 p.m. and a wake service at 7:30 p.m.

She was born on Dec. 17, 1921, in La Motte, daughter of Casper and Mary (Meyer) Konrardy. She married Francis Kennedy on April 3, 1940, at St. John's Catholic Church, Placid.

She received her education in the Placid-area schools. She was a member of St. John's Parish, Placid, and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Presentation Court 1460 and the ACCW.

Surviving are her husband, Francis Kennedy, of Epworth; two daughters, Patty Bonert, of Farley, and Suzanne Kennedy, of Dubuque; grandchildren, Pam (Larry) Wilgenbusch, Matt (Ann) Bonert, Luke (Diana) Bonert, Stacie Bonert (and fiance Tim Burds), Amy Bonert (and fiance Randy Cook), Joe Bonert and Jacob Bonert; great-grandchildren, Brandon Bonert and Taylor Wilgenbusch; a brother, Cyril Konrardy, of Dubuque; and two sisters, Thelma (Ray) Schwendinger, of Farley, and Valeria (Alfred) Hillebrand, of Dyersville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Carl Bonert, on Jan. 16, 1989; two brothers, Raymond and Edmund; and a sister, Delores Hillebrand.
