Mrs. Theresa M. Reiss, 99, of Dubuque Health Care Center, formerly of 6576 Mitchell Mill Road, La Motte, Iowa, died at 5:32 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 1996, at the care center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, St. Catherine, Iowa, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ed Siegert-Al Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., where there will be a parish wake service at 5 p.m. Friends also may call after 9 a.m. Monday at the church.

Mrs. Reiss was born on May 12, 1896, in Worthington, Iowa, daughter of Thomas and Philomena (Hanten) Schuster. She married Reinhart Reiss on Jan. 20, 1920, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church; he died on Jan. 12, 1972.

She was a member of St. Catherine's Parish and its rosary society and the Catholic Order of Foresters Court St. Mary Magdalene, and was formerly active with the Farm Bureau Ladies Association.

Surviving are three sons, Carl (and Joann) Reiss, of Dubuque, the Rev. Robert Reiss, of Cherry Valley, Calif., and Ralph Reiss, of Peosta, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Marie) Benson, of Dubuque; and 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Martin Reiss, on Dec. 24, 1983; and a great-grandson, Troy Meyer, on June 7, 1988.
