MAQUOKETA, Iowa - Ruby M. Linden, 79, of Maquoketa, formerly of Zwingle, died Saturday morning, July 12, 2008, at Luther Manor, Dubuque.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Sylvia Switch, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 14, at Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa, where there will be a vigil service at 4:30 p.m.

She was born on July 31, 1928, in Dubuque, daughter of Gerald R. and Harriet (Rowe) Swan. She graduated in 1946 from Dubuque Senior High School.

She married John Linden on Aug. 18, 1956, in Dubuque; he preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2000.

Ruby was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa.

She enjoyed her dogs and TV. She liked to play her Hawaiian guitar and loved to read.

Surviving are her children, Karen (Michael) Chase, of Dubuque, Susan (Dan) Brickner, of Perry, Kim (David) Gilmore, of Maquoketa, Stacey Linden, of Maquoketa, Kelli (Tim) Herber, of Lakeville, Minn., and John G. (Paula) Linden, of Delmar; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Bleich and Betty Albang, both of Dubuque; and a brother, George (Judy) Swan, of Dubuque.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Chris in 1980; and a sister.

Memorials are preferred.
