Clara C. Kutsch, 94, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 500 O'Neill St., died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m.

Mrs. Kutsch was employed as a secretary for Klauer Mfg. Co. for many years.

She was born on Jan. 4, 1911, in New Vienna, Iowa, daughter of Joseph and Leonora (Heying) Klostermann. She married Arnold Kutsch on Oct. 27, 1936, at Nativity Catholic Church, Dubuque; he died on Jan. 21, 1985.

She attended St. Boniface School in New Vienna, and graduated from the former Bayless Business College in Dubuque.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and its Rosary Society, St. Vincent de Paul Society, the former 62 Plus Club, Emerald Crown Club and the Ameri Club.

Clara enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge, crocheting, reading and traveling. She took great joy in her extended family.

Surviving are two sisters, Esther Gebhard, of Dallas, and Ruth Klostermann, of New Vienna; and nieces and nephews, Anne (Ricky) Shapiro, Sue Kenneally, Mike (Sue) Kenneally, Bill (Sara) Kitto, Annette Williams, Joyce (Dan) Willenborg, Gerri (Phil) Lu, Kay (Al) Schilling, Rita Klostermann, Elaine (Jack) Schmitt, Dr. John (Becky) Gebhard, Mary (Jeff) Hausman, Bob (Jan) Gebhard, Bill (Kathy) Gebhard, Renn (Betty Sue) Larson, Franklin (Lorraine) Larson, Victor (JoAnne) Kutsch, Rita (Dave) Osterberger and Mary (Wayne) Huber.

She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Cletus, Julius and Alfred Klostermann; three sisters, Dorothy Kenneally, Agnes Larson and Magdalene Kitto; a niece, Joan Allison; and a great-niece, Beth Willenborg.

Memorials may be given to Sacred Heart Church and Stonehill Care Center.

Clara's family wishes to thank the staff of Stonehill Care Center and the staff at Mercy Medical Center for the excellent care and concern extended to her.
