Samuel Rutter

Samuel Rutter who was born in England in 1840, died in his home in Kingston Sept. 26, 1903. He had been a sufferer from paralysis for the last three years.

Mr. Rutter lived in Des Moines county since *1850. Besides the widow, four children survive him; Mrs. Linus Brockway, Mrs. John Brockway, Herbert H. Rutter and Mary Catherine Rutter all of whom resides in or near Kingston. Mr. Rutter's only surviving sister, Mrs. Sarah Wert (Wirt), lives in Monroe county.

The funeral services were held at the home of the deceased on the afternoon of Sept. 27, conducted by Rev. C. Lepeltak. A large number of friends attended the services, which with the many beautiful floral tributes showed the respect in which he was held. The remains were laid to rest in Kingston cemetery.

Deceased was a member of the Presbyterian church of Kingston and the belief that he trusted in Jesus for salvation, and that he is now delivered from pain and suffering, and enjoying the presence without end of his Lord, is a great comfort to the bereaved.
