Dwight Walker

Dwight M. Walker, 71, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Burlington, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 1990.

Born Nov. 17, 1918, in Burlington, he was the son of Calvin and Nora McAllister Walker. He married Anna G. Bruner May 24, 1942 in Burlington.

He was a sales representative for building and maintenance supplies until retiring. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and a member and former president of the Linn County Association for Retarded Citizens. He was one of the organizers of the Ellis YMCA and former member of the United Way Fund Review Committee. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Richard D. Walker, Cedar Rapids; one daughter, Mary McCollum, Jacksonville, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Turner Chapel West in Cedar Rapids.

The service for Mr. Walker will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. James United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids, with the Revs. Catherine Luck and Rollin Oswald officiating. The graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at North Walker Cemetery near Sperry.
