Fern C. Maddox, 88, of Carman, Illinois, died Sunday, September 11, 1988, at Burlington Medical Center. Born May 28, 1900, in Des Moines County, she was the daughter of Elisha and Jane Dowell McCannon. She married John Maddox May 4, 1940, at Kahoka, Missouri.
She was a member of the Senior Citizens at Carman and Lomax, Illinois, and the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Marion (Albert) Maddox and Mrs. Mildred (Russell) Krieger, both of Burlington, and Mrs. Jacquelyn (Davis) Edwards, Gladstone, Illinois; one son, Henry Thomson, Ottumwa; one brother, Jack McCannon, Burlington; and 11 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Sheagren Funeral Home.
