Jack Worster

Jack Wayne Worster, 57, of Oakville, died Sunday, May 10, 1998, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born Feb. 21, 1941, at Plover, he was the son of Harlan and Loretta Shaw Worster. On July 28, 1962, he married June May Ann Hackett in Fort Dodge.

Mr. Worster worked at general construction and retired as a power plant operator from the Louisa Generating Station of Muscatine.

He served in the Navy with the SeaBees. He attended Faith Christian Outreach Center in Mount Pleasant. He enjoyed working and camping.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Jacki Harlow of Oakville, Jeanie Wyse of Wayland, and Joani Wagler and Jessie Philpott, both of Burlington; one son, Jonathan Worster of Oakville; six grandchildren; his mother of Fort Dodge; and four sisters, Carol Husky, Joyce Leefe and Marian Reeceburg, all of Fort Dodge, and Kris Cody of Ames.

He was preceded in death by his father, an infant sister and a special friend, Jim Nolan, a drifter the Worsters took into their home and befriended for his last 11 years of life.

Visitation will begin after 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Worster will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, with the Rev. Monte Knudson officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery at Mediapolis.

A memorial has been established.
