Ben N. Wagler, 86, of 328 Curran St., died 8:27 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, 1988, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born Jan. 10, 1902, in Burlington, Kan., he was the son of Christian I. (T.) and Mary Huber Wagler. He married Esther Dietsch Sept. 30, 1924, in Burlington, Iowa.

He was self-employed as an upholsterer before retiring. He was a member of the Burlington Apostolic Christian Church.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, William Wagler and Paul R. Wagler, both of Burlington; three daughters, Phyllis F. White and Dana Weiss, both of Burlington, and Karen McCullough, Des Moines; three brothers, Paul Wagler and Robert Wagler, both of Burlington, and Joe Wagler, Denver, Colo.; one sister, Matilda Frank, Burlington; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Lunning Chapel.

The service for Mr. Wagler will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Burlington Apostolic Christian Church with church ministers officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Burlington Apostolic Christian Church.
